Metal Braces – SmartClip™ Self-Ligating Braces
Traditionally, tiny elastic rubber bands were used to hold the wire onto your braces. Today, advancements in technology have introduced self-ligating braces. Instead of the tiny rubber bands, SmartClip™ Self-Ligating Braces use a unique clip to hold the wire in place, eliminating the need for tiny elastic rubber bands and making oral hygiene easier. SmartClip braces are comfortable and quick—your teeth move into place quicker than with traditional braces.

Clear Braces – Clarity™ Advanced Ceramic Brackets
Clarity™ Advanced Ceramic Brackets are considered one of the most advanced brackets on the market. Made from a translucent material that is designed to blend in with your natural tooth color, these brackets feature an ultra-small design with increased strength. They’re also made to resist staining and discoloration throughout treatment.

Damon® System
Damon braces are a significant advancement over traditional braces. This system uses a slide mechanism to hold the wire. Unlike traditional braces, there are no tiny elastic rubber bands. This enables quicker movement for the teeth, greater comfort and increased oral hygiene.

Damon® Insignia System
Insignia is a fully interactive software and custom appliance system that works with the Damon braces. This advanced computer software ensures a custom fit. Damon® Insignia System gives you the best of both worlds: the superior treatment advantages of the Damon System as well as computerized bracket placement, customized angles/torque built into each bracket, and customized wires.

Quad Helix
This custom-made, fixed appliance is used to correct crossbite. The Quad Helix attaches to molars using two bands which are cemented to the first molars. The upper arch of teeth is widened, making room for crowded teeth. Most patients adjust to this appliance easily.

RPE (Rapid Palatal Expander)
This fixed appliance widens the jaw and corrects crossbite. The RPE is secured onto the most posterior molars.

Lingual Arch
A Lower Lingual Arch helps maintain spaces. It keeps certain teeth from drifting and potentially blocking space where permanent teeth will eventually grow in. This fixed appliance can be removed by your doctor at the appropriate time in treatment.

Elastics
Elastics are the small, stretchy rubber bands that attach to upper and lower braces. They are strategically placed to add extra force in order to quickly move teeth in a specific direction.

Carrièr Distalizer
This is a very discreet, bite-correcting appliance. It is used on the upper jaw before braces and in conjunction with rubber bands to provide early correction of excessive overbites.

Forsus Appliance
This appliance is used to reposition jaws in patients whose upper jaws protrude over the lower jaws while the patient is still experiencing growth and development. Forsus helps to align the teeth while reducing overbites and promoting proper jaw growth in growing children.

In certain circumstances, Forsus can correct bite problems more efficiently than rubber bands and are more comfortable and aesthetic than headgear. Because this is a fixed appliance and working all the time, you don’t have to remember to take it off and on. Forsus may also help to prevent the need for future costly and invasive jaw surgery.

Retainers
After completion of orthodontic treatment, retainers are needed to keep teeth in their corrected positions. Retainers are custom-made for each individual and provide stability for teeth in their new positions. Retainers are an essential step: over time teeth will naturally shift back into their original positions.

There are different types of retainers available that cater to specific conditions or needs. When it is time to have one made, the doctor will be able to recommend your best option.

Pedo (Children’s) Night Guards
It’s common for young children to grind their teeth. Also called bruxism, this grinding causes loss of tooth enamel and weakens the tooth structure. Night Guards are worn during sleep to prevent tooth-on-tooth friction.

Habit Appliance
When children suck their thumb or fingers, it can affect the normal growth and development of their jaws and teeth. A habit appliance, commonly known as a thumb reminder, interrupts the thumb-sucking action. This is a fixed appliance that runs along the roof of the mouth from the back molars to behind the front teeth.

Space Maintainers
If a baby tooth falls out prematurely, that space must be preserved in order for the permanent tooth to have room to emerge. Your orthodontist may recommend a space maintainer to prevent the space from closing. This fixed, thin wire runs along the inside of the teeth and is typically cemented onto the molars.
